Early Life and College Career

Six-time NBA All-Star Bill Walton was born on November 5, 1952, in La Mesa, California. He played college basketball at UCLA and won three consecutive national college player of the year awards from 1972 to 1974. He led the Bruins to NCAA championships in 1972 and 1973.

NBA Career

Walton played 10 seasons in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers, Boston Celtics, and San Diego/Los Angeles Clippers. He was a six-time NBA All-Star and won two NBA championships with the Celtics in 1986 and 1987. He averaged 13.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks per game in his regular season career.

Post-Playing Career

After retiring from playing, Walton worked as a basketball analyst for ESPN and NBC Sports. He has also written several books about basketball, including "Bill Walton: Back from the Dead" and "The Miracle of St. Anthony."
